Powered by the very latest AGCO Power four cylinder engines, these tractors offer best in class visibility, manoeuvrability and transmission control. With a 2.55m wheelbase and weighing just 4.8t these highly versatile tractors combine a great power to weight ratio with superb agility. They are the perfect partner for a Massey Ferguson loader and are also ideally suited to a wide range of field and transport duties. “The MF 5700 SL Series introduces a new genre of tractors that build on the success of the MF 5600 Series. They mould together the compact dimensions required by livestock and mixed farmers with the performance and power needed for arable work,” says Campbell Scott, Director, Marketing Services. “At the same time Massey Ferguson has refined its elegant answer to meeting the requirements of the strict Stage IV/Tier 4 final emission regulations with a revolutionary, ‘All in One’ Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system. Mounting the highly compact SCR system below the cab on the right hand side allows the MF 5700 SL Series to retain its steep sloping bonnet to offer unrivalled forward visibility, unimpeded by any extraneous additions.” The MF 5700 SL Series also includes a new 100hp, four cylinder model, the MF 5710 that is an addition to the range, to complement the three cylinder MF 5600 tractors.

Industry-leading engine design

Massey Ferguson’s pioneering introduction of Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) in 2008 is paying dividends for users. Taking this early lead in employing SCR has allowed engineers to continue with its elegant design to combat emissions – now meeting the strictest Stage IV/Tier 4 final requirements without having to make any compromises. Massey Ferguson MF 5700 SL Series tractors are powered by the industry’s most advanced AGCO Power 4.4 litre, four cylinder engine, with unique ‘All in One’ SCR technology that doesn’t sacrifice power, efficiency, maintenance, ground clearance or, importantly, visibility. It is also proven to help reduce fuel consumption. With ‘All in One’ technology the SCR system and Diesel Oxidation Catalyser (DOC) are contained together in a compact assembly that tucks away neatly under the right-hand side of the cab. Even the exhaust pipe is the same size as before. The highly efficient design employs a special ‘swirl system’ that thoroughly mixes the exhaust gases and Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) such as AdBlue. This is the most efficient way to reduce the harmful NOx gas and the system, of course, remains maintenance free. Other changes include a new electronically controlled wastegate turbocharger and latest fourth generation common rail fuel injection to improve engine responsiveness and overall performance. This advanced technology allows the engine to run at lower temperatures than alternative systems, which means Massey Ferguson continues use a compact cooling package and maintains the superb visibility offered by the steep nosed bonnet. Specially designed air inlets and outlets on the bonnet channel the incoming and outgoing air around the engine, which also improves cooling efficiency.

Top transmission choice

All the MF 5700 SL Series tractors can be specified with the choice of either the Dyna-4 or Dyna-6, efficient and easy to use transmissions. Both come with the useful brake to neutral function and the option of AutoDrive, which provides automatic changing of the four or six steps in fieldwork, as well as the ranges when in transport. The rugged and well proven Dyna-6 transmission provides clutchless operation of six speeds in four ranges providing a total of 24 forward and 24 reverse speeds. The highly efficient Dyna-4 transmission offers 16 forward and 16 reverse speeds with four Dynashift speeds in four ranges. Electro-hydraulic control also provides clutchless range changes.

Exclusive front axle suspension

The MF 5700 SL tractors are available with the option of front axle suspension, developed and built by Massey Ferguson as an integral part of the design. The compact system uses a suspension arm mounted between a special cast engine oil sump and specific, new front axle support with electro-hydraulic control.  The front axle suspension does not interfere with the fitting of a front linkage or loader – and all three can be mounted at the same time.

Choice of systems offers superb hydraulic control choice

The new MF 5700 SL Series tractors come with a unique choice of three hydraulic systems that offer high flowrates and comprehensive control to suit every application. All models are equipped with an efficient twin-pump system that delivers 58 litres/min for the spool valves and linkage, with a separate pump for all internal services. For those requiring extra flow – to boost loader performance – there is also the 100 litre/min combined flow system. This system can combine the flow from the 58 litre/min linkage pump along with 42 litres/min from an additional high pressure pump, which provides greater flow for the loader. When not combined, one pump supplies the linkage and the other pump the spool valves. An additional, separate pump provides all the internal services. This versatility maximises performance in all operations. A 110 litre/min closed centre load sensing (CCLS) system is another option, delivering flow and pressure on demand for optimum output, control and economy. This also comes with finger-tip spool valve controls or electronic joystick.

Even more cab comfort and control

The MF 5700 SL Series benefits from the same cab comfort as larger models from the Massey Ferguson range, while offering superb visibility across the steep nosed bonnet and providing sophisticated, but straightforward control. The new and practical Speedsteer option makes it possible to vary the number of steering wheel revolutions needed to turn the wheels from lock-to-lock. This helps loading operations and headland turns to be made more quickly and with less effort. The system is quick and easy to activate and disengage with fine adjustments made on the dashboard screen. It also turns off automatically at speeds of more than 20km/hr. Operators will appreciate the new clear dashboard colour display that is the same as that used on the top of the range MF 8700 Series. This provides better visibility during the day and at night making it easier to use the Set Up and Information Screen (SIS). The MF 5700 SL Series is available with the option of Auto-Guide 3000 automatic steering as well as the AgCommand telemetry system. Both can also be supplied fully-installed from the factory. The recently introduced ‘Go Mode’ on Auto-Guide 3000 provides a fast set-up and enables users to choose between four steering paths – A-B line, A+ heading, Centre Pivot and curved lines. AgCommand improves fleet management, machine monitoring and security while simplifying record keeping and job reports. No software is required because is accessed through a secure webpage on an office PC or through smart ‘phones or tablets.

Superbly equipped loader specialist

With their unimpeded visibility over the steep nosed bonnet, efficient high-flow hydraulics and transmission control, joystick and Visio roof options the MF 5700 SL Series tractors make supreme loader tractors. Massey Ferguson not only supplies a wide range of parallel and non-parallel lifting loaders in its MF 900X range, the tractors can also be supplied ‘loader ready’ from the factory. This novel option provides a sub-frame, dedicated pipework and mechanical or electronic joysticks to fully integrate the loader into the tractor.
